ChemITC Strategy Renewal

ChemITC Evaluates Strategy Effectiveness, Renews Future Plans

Following a few organizational and leadership changes in late 2007, the ChemITC Executive Board felt the time was right to examine progress toward organization objectives and make adjustments to ensure that we are focusing our time and resources in the areas that matter most to members. To accomplish this task, ChemITC enlisted the assistance of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to facilitate a strategy renewal process earlier this year.

Cyber Storm II

In the Aftermath of Cyber Storm II: What's Next?

In keeping up with the continually evolving risk of cyber threats to our national security, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently conducted its biennial cyber exercise, Cyber Storm II. The exercise, which took place March 10-14 in Washington, D.C., was the culmination of 18 months of planning and the largest cyber security exercise ever organized. Ten ChemITC members participated in Cyber Storm II.

Manufacturing and Control Systems Security

M&CS Team Members Provide Chemical Industry Input to External Standards Organization, New Standard Now Available

For the last six years, manufacturing and control systems security experts from ChemITC member companies have diligently represented chemical sector interests in a number of external organizations. Perhaps the most notable of this work has been the participation of several Manufacturing and Control Systems Security Team members in activities underway in ISA. The ISA99 Committee reached a significant milestone earlier this year with the long-awaited publication of part one of a new American National Standards Institute Standard.

European Team Addresses Regulatory Activity Affecting Data Privacy

As part of the ChemITC strategy renewal process, an increasing need for coordination on global issues affecting the chemical industry was identified as an area of mounting significance for the Cyber Security Program. The Cyber Security Program is well organized to address emerging issues in the European region through its European Networking and Implementation Team.
